WHAT IS TEXAS FRIGHTMARE WEEKEND?

Texas Frightmare Weekend is a three-day horror convention held in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, with its inaugural event taking place in 2006. Since 2012, the event has been proudly sponsored by Arrow Video. True to its tagline, “The Southwest’s Premier Horror Convention,” Texas Frightmare Weekend aims to deliver an unparalleled experience for fans, celebrating all facets of genre films. The convention features celebrity appearances, autograph signings, film screenings, exclusive parties, and a wide array of horror memorabilia vendors from across the country. Additionally, the event takes pride in showcasing the emerging talents of Texas-based “Frightmakers” through screenings, panel discussions, and Q&A sessions.

In 2023, Texas Frightmare Weekend moved to the Irving Convention Center & Toyota Music Factory to accommodate its ever-growing fan base.

From its modest beginnings at the small Grapevine Convention Center in Grapevine, TX, TFW (as it has come to be known by attendees) has grown to become one of the largest horror conventions in the nation. Drawing thousands of attendees annually, the event has hosted an impressive lineup of genre legends, including Neve Campbell, Matthew Lillard, Brad Dourif, Danny Trejo, George A. Romero, Clive Barker, Malcolm McDowell, Robert Englund, John Carpenter, Tobe Hooper, Cary Elwes, Juliette Lewis and many more.
